The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is an exam format which provides an opportunity to students having arear in their 10th or 12th exam under CBSE, ICSE, ISC, and other state board exams. ELIGIBILITY:

·       All those students who were unable to attempt their 10th and 12th board exam or have failed the examination are eligible to appear for On Demand Exams.

NIOS ON-DEMAND EXAMINATION ARE DIFFERENT FROM REGULAR NIOS EXAMINATION:

Having a slight difference between them, NIOS On-Demand exams are usually different from the regular NIOS exam. They differentiate primarily on the exams timing and their conduct of the exam. Public exams are conducted twice a year, while On-Demand exams allow students to take exams at any time they're ready, pertaining to certain conditions. On-Demand exams also involve a different question paper generation process, while the regular exam has a standardized question paper for all.  

While the regular NIOS exam award the marks based on theory and Term Assignment Marks, On-Demand NIOS exam awards mark based on only theory.


DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR ON-DEMAND EXAMINATION:

There are certain documents which are required for On-Demand examination and therefore, they must be always kept handy. Some of the documents which are usually required are:

·       10th Failed Marksheet/ Admit Card for 10th Class Admission

·       12th Failed Marksheet/ Admit Card for 12th Class Admission 

·       Original Aadhar Card of Candidate

·       One Latest Passport Size Color Photo 

·       Signature of the student

·       Category Certificate

 

REGISTRATION PROCESS: NIOS registration process is an 100% online procedure. To register for the On-Demand Examination, follow the steps:

1.    Visit the official NIOS site: www.nios.ac.in. Click on the registration button for examination only for existing learners.

2.    Provide your Enrollment Number and click the submit button.

3.    The registration form appears, fill the form and get registered. You can choose your suitable exam center and for those subject for which you have admission.

4.    Submit the form and make the payment.


EXAM SCHEDULE & CENTERS: The NIOS exam is conducted every year in two blocks. Block 1 (June, July, August, September) and Block 2 (January, February, March). You can choose your exam dates according to your preference.

NIOS usually conducts its exam in NIOS headquarters in Noida, regional centers and across all the Kendriya Vidyalayas of the country.


RESULTS & TOC: The result of the exam is typically announced within 45 days after the examination. The Transfer of Credit (TOC) permits students to transfer credits earned in up to two courses from other accredited boards as long as those subjects align with those offered by NIOS.
